RRI.CO.ID, Bekasi Regency - Acting Regent of Bekasi, Asep Surya Atmaja, has called for equitable development across all villages in the regency, stressing that no village should be left untouched by government programs.

Expressing disappointment, Regent Asep noted that in 2026 one village did not receive any development allocation. He urged the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) to correct this oversight.

“No village should be excluded from development, whether in 2026 or 2027. Next year, I will emphasize fair and equal development; every village must be treated the same,” he said on Friday, February 6, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

With a total village development budget of IDR 1 trillion, Asep insisted that every village should benefit. He argued that at minimum, each village should receive IDR 1 billion in development funds.

“The Bekasi Regency budget for village development is IDR 1 trillion. It makes no sense if we cannot allocate at least IDR 1 billion per village,” he stated.

Asep further explained that the local administration will re-evaluate the 2026 development program to ensure more equitable distribution. He even opened the possibility of adjusting timelines and reallocating funds to achieve more targeted results.

“I want the development projects to begin in August 2026. For now, I will review which villages have not yet received any development,” he added.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Arif, Chair of the South Tambun Youth Organization (Karang Taruna), expressed hope that equitable village development would be realized, eliminating disparities between communities.

“It is time for Bekasi Regency to start development from the smallest unit, the village. If every village is well-developed, then Bekasi Regency as a whole will thrive,” Arif told reporters. (Annaila Azzahra/Sri Wahyuni)
