RRI.CO.ID, West Bandung – As search operations for the devastating Pasirlangu village landslide enter their 10th day, joint Search and Rescue (SAR) teams are redirecting personnel to untapped areas. This strategic shift follows the recovery of 83 body bags, a figure that now exceeds initial victim lists.

"Accumulatively until this afternoon, there are 83 body bags. This number already exceeds the search list. However, from DVI identification, there are body bags that exceed one but have a single identity," said Ade Dian Permana, Head of the Bandung SAR Office, in Bandung on Monday, February 2, 2026.

Ade explained that out of the total, 61 victims have been successfully identified by the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team. Of those, 45 are recorded as local residents on the search list, while 16 others were not in the initial data.

"From the 61 identified victims, 45 match the search list. Then two victims were identified but not listed in the search list," he said, as quoted by Antara.

Ade continued that this leaves 35 victims whose identities remain unconfirmed, including about 20 still in body bag form undergoing identification.

He added that search operations will continue for the next 14 days in line with the disaster emergency response declaration.

"In accordance with the government's decision on disaster emergency response, SAR operations are planned to continue for the next 14 days and will be evaluated on the seventh day," said Ade.

Additionally, the joint SAR team is expanding the search area by shifting some personnel from sector A2 to sector B2. This move was prompted by field evaluations indicating the presence of potential victims in that area. ***
