RRI.CO.ID, Aceh - The Indonesian government has launched its fourth wave of health reinforcements to bolster long-term recovery efforts across disaster-stricken areas in Aceh Province.

A total of 396 medical personnel from the Health Ministry’s Reserve Health Corps (TCK), in collaboration with the Aceh Health Agency, were deployed on Sunday, February 1, 2026, to address the evolving healthcare needs of residents following devastating floods and landslides.

As reported by Antara, this latest deployment marks a significant milestone in the provincial response, bringing the total number of medical professionals dispatched to the region to over 1,200 since the initial emergency phase. The current team is scheduled to operate for the next 14 days, providing essential medical services across eight heavily impacted regencies and cities.

Acting Head of the Aceh Health Agency, Ferdiyus, emphasized the importance of sustained medical presence during the transition from emergency response to recovery. During the official send-off ceremony at the Governor’s Office in Banda Aceh, he expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from the provincial administration and various stakeholders who have facilitated field operations.

Governor of Aceh Muzakir Manaf, widely known as Mualem, lauded the commitment of the reserve corps through a statement delivered by the Assistant for Special Affairs and Welfare, Syakir. The Governor noted that as the province enters its 67th day post-disaster, the focus must shift toward navigating the intricate health challenges inherent in the recovery phase.

“High appreciation is extended to the Health Ministry’s TCK for their dedication and commitment to helping the community during the emergency response and post-disaster recovery periods in Aceh,” remarked Governor Mualem.

The Governor acknowledged that the health challenges currently facing the population have grown increasingly complex. These issues range from heightened disease risks to the long-term physical and mental rehabilitation of affected citizens. Consequently, the provincial administration remains committed to ensuring field coordination remains seamless to maximize the impact of the medical teams.

“In the recovery phase, the presence of health workers is a vital pillar to ensure the recovery process remains sustainable, effective, and well-targeted,” remarked the Governor.

He then adding a prayer for the safety of the teams and recognizing their service as a profound act of social and spiritual merit. ***
