RRI.CO.ID, Bener Meriah - The construction of the Bailey Bridge in Bener Pepanyi Village, Bener Meriah Regency, situated along the Kertas Kraft Aceh (KKA) axis connecting North Aceh, Bener Meriah, and Takengon, has been successfully completed by the Natural Disaster Relief Task Force. As of Sunday, February 1, 2026, the bridge is fully operational, restoring vital access for the community’s daily activities.

The Bener Pepanyi Bailey Bridge is a Type 1-1 SSR (Single-Single Reinforced) structure, spanning 30 meters or 10 modular bays. The project involved a joint task force from the 9th Lang Lang Bhuwana Combat Engineer Battalion (Yonzipur 9) and the 3rd Agni Tirta Dharma Engineer Detachment (Denzipur 3), who worked around the clock to expedite transportation recovery following the recent disaster.

The completion of the bridge serves as a critical breakthrough for local residents. Prior to its installation, transportation along this vital artery was severed due to infrastructure damage caused by natural disasters. This disruption had a direct impact on social activities, education, and the local economy.

With the bridge now in place, regional mobility has returned to normal. The previously obstructed inter-regional link is once again traversable, ensuring the seamless flow of both people and logistics.

The Commander of District Military Command (Dandim) 0119/Bener Meriah, Lieut. Col. Ahmad Fauzi, described the Bailey Bridge construction as a swift and strategic response. He emphasized that it serves as an essential emergency solution to restore connectivity in areas affected by infrastructure failure.

"With the completion of this Bailey Bridge, the previously severed transportation access has returned to normal. This will significantly assist the community in carrying out their daily routines without hindrance," said the Commander, on Sunday.

He further noted that the Bailey Bridge was built as an effective temporary solution to replace the function of the damaged permanent bridge. This measure ensures that the primary route remains accessible to the public.

"The existence of this bridge is vital, as it serves as a primary corridor for citizen mobility, logistics distribution, and the economic pulse of the Bener Pepanyi area and its surroundings," he concluded. (Annaila Azzahra/Bambang MBKA)
