RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Administration has announced plans to develop Danau Cincin, also known as Waduk Cincin, in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. The lakeside area, already popular among residents for its sunset views framed by the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), will be transformed into a community hub.

Governor Pramono Anung said on Sunday that the site, managed by the Water Resources Agency, will undergo revitalization. “Danau Cincin will soon be developed because it is an area under Water Resources,” he stated, as quoted by Antara.

Governor Pramono explained that he and Deputy Governor Rano Karno have agreed to designate the area as a public gathering space. Plans include the construction of a museum to complement the recreational facilities. “We have agreed that it will be a place for people to gather, with a museum and other features,” he added.

Located in Papanggo, Tanjung Priok, the Danau Cincin area spans about 50,000 square meters and includes an 8.4-hectare urban forest, making it one of the city’s significant green open spaces.

Beyond the lake project, Governor Pramono also raised concerns about the entrance gate to the Ancol area, which he noted has remained unchanged for decades. “It has looked the same since my children were little, and now one of them is already a regent, the gate has never changed,” he remarked. ***
