RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has inaugurated the Klinik UMKM Bangkit (MSMEs Rise Clinic) in Padang, West Sumatra. The clinic serves as an integrated service center for MSME entrepreneurs whose businesses were severely affected by floods and landslides.

Deputy Minister of MSMEs Helvi Moraza said the initiative is the result of collaboration between the central government, the West Sumatra provincial administration, state-owned enterprises, and private partners. He stressed that the clinic is not a symbolic gesture but a concrete effort to strengthen recovery and development for disaster-hit businesses.

“Our presence here is not merely ceremonial, but a statement that the state stands with the people of West Sumatra. This initiative is intended to restore and develop MSMEs so they can grow and remain competitive,” Helvi said in a statement on Saturday, January 24, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

He emphasized that disaster mitigation does not end with emergency response but must continue into the recovery phase, which directly affects livelihoods. MSMEs, he added, are the backbone of the regional economy.

“For this reason, President Prabowo has instructed us to work earnestly and to invite all parties to collaborate. West Sumatra has shown extraordinary solidarity,” Helvi said.

Currently, the clinic operates from a single hub in Padang. To reach entrepreneurs in remote areas, the ministry has deployed the Mobil Klinik UMKM Bangkit, a mobile unit that delivers services to districts affected by natural disasters.

The clinic offers financing to help entrepreneurs replace lost inventory and repair damaged equipment, promotes local products to ensure they are prioritized in government and corporate procurement, and provides training to strengthen production capacity and digital literacy.

Helvi urged all affected entrepreneurs to make full use of the services. “This situation cannot be allowed to drag on. MSMEs are the heartbeat of the regional economy, the source of family livelihoods, and a pillar of national economic resilience,” he said.

West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi Ansharullah welcomed the initiative, noting that the province has a long tradition of trade and entrepreneurship.

“Through the Klinik UMKM Bangkit, we want to ensure that entrepreneurs affected by the disaster not only recover to their original condition but also move up a class. The spirit of trade, enterprise, and migration is deeply rooted in the identity of the Minangkabau people,” Mahyeldi said. (Naura Sofia/Lasti Martina)
