Unhas Nursing Students Join Sakura Exchange Program in Japan

KBRN, Jakarta: The Faculty of Nursing at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) is participating in the 2026 Sakura Exchange Program at Yokohama City University, Japan, from January 13 to 19, aiming to enhance students’ academic skills, global perspectives, and professional competence in healthcare.

Dean of Unhas' Faculty of Nursing, Elly L. Sjattar, emphasized the importance of maintaining academic integrity, ethics, and the university’s reputation while engaging in all activities at Yokohama City University. She encouraged participants to take advantage of the program for cross-cultural learning, knowledge exchange, and building international academic networks.

“The experiences and learning outcomes from this international program are expected to strengthen academic activities, research, and community service at Hasanuddin University’s Faculty of Nursing,” Elly said, on Wednesday, January 14, as quoted by Antara.

The Sakura Science Exchange Program provides a global academic experience through scientific discussions, observation of educational and healthcare practices, and direct interaction with faculty and students from partner universities in Japan.

The delegation from the Faculty of Nursing includes nine undergraduate students, one master’s student, and a supervising lecturer who will participate in academic and cultural activities throughout the program. ***
