KBRN, Takengon: The Gayo Volunteer Collaboration Humanitarian Post (PKKRG) continues its efforts to ensure that refugees affected by the recent disaster effectively utilize all incoming aid.

M. Ibnu Akbar, deputy coordinator for the Post and Volunteer Division of PKKRG, said every donation received is carefully sorted and packaged according to the specific needs of refugees.

“All aid arriving at the post is packaged based on refugee requirements. We want to prevent supplies from piling up aimlessly. Our goal is to ensure they are delivered and truly beneficial to the victims,” Akbar said on Friday, January 2, 2026.

He explained that PKKRG has deployed specialized field teams to monitor and collect data on the needs of affected communities. These teams provide regular updates on current conditions, allowing aid distribution to be tailored to the real-time requirements of each displacement center.

“We have specific teams in the field monitoring community needs. We do this to ensure that the distributed aid is accurately targeted and can be immediately utilized by the victims,” he added.

At the post, volunteers were seen actively sorting wearable clothing, food supplies, and other essentials for immediate distribution. The neatly organized stacks of packaged aid reflect PKKRG’s commitment to professionally managing the trust placed in them by donors.

PKKRG hopes that collaboration between volunteers, the community, and donors will remain strong. Such synergy is vital to a faster, more effective post-disaster recovery process, particularly for residents in the Gayo region and surrounding areas. (Annaila Azzahra/Lasti Martina)
