KBRN, Jakarta: The Aceh Administration has intensified efforts to deliver logistics and medical supplies to areas cut off by floods and landslides that struck the province in late November 2025.

Aceh Regional Secretary M. Nasir said the administration is working closely with the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), the Iskandar Muda Regional Military Command (Kodam IM), and the Aceh Regional Police to ensure aid reaches affected communities quickly and effectively.

“The Aceh Administration has established close cooperation with various parties to accelerate and guarantee that assistance arrives at the intended targets,” Nasir said in a statement on Monday, December 8, 2025.

He explained that food and medicine are being prioritized for air delivery to reach isolated regions where road access has been severed. Aid distribution is focused on Central Aceh, Bener Meriah, Gayo Lues, North Aceh, Aceh Tamiang, East Aceh, and Langsa City, where emergency tents, public kitchens, and medical service posts have already been set up.

In addition to air routes, logistics are also being transported by land and sea. BNPB launched the first phase of sea shipments at the end of November, sending 27 tons of supplies to flood and landslide victims.

“The Aceh Administration and other agencies, such as the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) and the Sharia Police (WH), are coordinating to maximize sea routes to accelerate aid distribution. The process continues gradually through a combination of land, sea, and air routes,” Nasir said.

He noted that sea shipments were crucial because many land routes had been completely cut off. However, access has now improved. “Alhamdulillah, land routes such as Aceh Tamiang and North Sumatra are accessible again, both for four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles,” he confirmed.

The floods and landslides in Aceh late last month left several districts isolated, prompting the government to mobilize emergency logistics by air and sea. Authorities say the gradual reopening of road access will help speed up recovery efforts in the coming weeks. (Annaila Azzahra/Lasti Martina)
