KBRN, Jakarta: Fifty children with special needs and 50 members of the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) of Central Jakarta successfully completed a two-week Arts and Culture Training at the Mashabi Arts Training Center Hall in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, held from July 17 to 30, 2025.

Central Jakarta Mayor Arifin lauded the enthusiasm and creative output of the participants with disabilities throughout the program.

“They have shown that physical limitations are no obstacle to creativity and artistic expression,” Arifin said on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

According to Arifin, the training not only focused on technical skills in crafts and batik but also fostered collaboration, mutual respect, and appreciation of diversity.

“Art has proven to be a powerful medium for unity, opening pathways for anyone to express themselves, regardless of physical condition or background,” he said.

Arifin emphasized that the training reflects a shared commitment to ensuring equal opportunities for all citizens, including those with disabilities, to nurture and showcase their talents in the arts and culture sector.

He also hopes that the program will serve as a gateway to future opportunities for people with disabilities to actively contribute to the country's cultural development. ***
