KBRN, Wamena: The Eid al-Adha prayer in Jayawijaya Regency, Highland Papua Province was reported to run safely and with full reverence. The Eid al-Adha prayer was centered at the Great Mosque of Baiturrahman, Jayawijaya.

Eid al-Adha is hoped to be a momentum for Muslims to strengthen their faith and increase social awareness. The chosen sermon theme was "Emulating the Spirit of Prophet Ibrahim A.S.'s Struggle."

The Eid al-Adha prayer series took place at 7:00 a.m. local time, beginning with a report from the Islamic Holy Day Commemoration (PHBI) Chairperson, Teguh Priantoro. He revealed that Eid al-Adha prayers were also held at 20 locations in Jayapura.

There were 9 prayer points in Wamena City, namely Nurul Hidayah Mosque, Jami Al Ikhlas Police Mosque, Baiturrahim Kodim Mosque, At-Taubah Prison Mosque, and Fisabilillah Battalion Mosque. Then, the yard of Nurul Anwar APMS Lasminingsih Mushola, Budi Utomo Mushola, Al-Muhajirin KPR Sinakma Mushola, and the yard of Al Mustakim Jibama Mushola.

Meanwhile, outside Wamena city or in Muslim villages, the prayers were held at 12 points, including Air Garam, Hitigima, Eragama, Megapura, Yapema, Jagara, Kurima, Walesi, Pelema, Holima, Apenas, and Kimbim.

Officers from the local government and police worked together to guard several areas to ensure the Eid al-Adha celebration ran smoothly and safely. ***
