KBRN, Semarang: The Semarang Night Carnival (SNC) held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, receiving great enthusiasm from the community. The SNC featured more than 150 participants in unique and iconic costume parades.
The parade started from Kilometer Zero Point to Semarang City Hall, with thousands of people lining the route.
Carrying the theme “Perisai Nusantara” (Nusantara Shield), the 2025 SNC parade highlighted a carnival of costumes reflecting Indonesian culture with ornaments such as the Cendrawasih bird, peacock, orchid flowers, and Penjor. These ornaments not only represent the philosophy of Indonesia’s national emblem, Garuda Pancasila, but also reflect the identity of Semarang City.
“This is to attract tourists; this event has been held annually, and this year is the most festive,” said Semarang Mayor Agustina Wilujeng Pramestuti, as quoted by rri.co.id.

Agustina also asked the committee to evaluate the 2025 SNC to anticipate the high enthusiasm of the public, so the event can be held more comfortably.
“Keep moving forward, let culture and civilization continue to progress together,” said the Semarang City Culture and Tourism Agency Head, Wing Wiyarso. ***
