KBRN, Jakarta: Coinciding with National Transportation Day on April 24, 2025, the Greater Jakarta Light Rail Transit (LRT) successfully transported 103,582 passengers. This figure marks the highest record since the driverless train operation began in August 2023.

“This momentum not only sets a new record for the Greater Jakarta LRT but also demonstrates the growing awareness among the public in making public transportation a part of a sustainable lifestyle,” said Greater Jakarta LRT Executive Vice President, Mochamad Purnomosidi on Friday, April 25, 2025, as quoted by rri.co.id.

He said that this achievement reflects the increasing public confidence in public transportation. This mode has now become an efficient and environmentally friendly mobility option.

“This accomplishment is the result of the collective spirit of the public, who are becoming more aware of the importance of public transportation. Besides supporting smoother and more comfortable mobility, using public transportation such as the Greater LRT is also a form of environmental concern.”

Ametis Institute records that the average emission per trip on the Greater Jakarta LRT is only 15 grams of CO₂e per kilometer per person. Meanwhile, conventional private vehicles produce 31 to 37 grams of CO₂e per kilometer per person, resulting in a greater environmental impact compared to using public transportation.

As of April 24, 2025, the total number of Greater Jakarta LRT users has reached nearly eight million people. This figure reflects the public’s confidence in the integration of public transportation.

“We encourage the public to continue using public transportation in their daily activities. By choosing public transit, we not only improve urban mobility but also contribute to a cleaner environment and a sustainable future,” said Purnomosidi.

Here are the three Greater Jakarta LRT stations with the highest number of passengers on National Transportation Day 2025: Dukuh Atas BNI served 29,992 passengers, Harjamukti served 23,403 passengers, and Kuningan served 20,185 passengers.

Greater Jakarta LRT remains committed to providing safe, comfortable, punctual, and well-integrated services. Public support is expected to further strengthen the transformation toward sustainable urban mobility. ***
