RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Tuanku Imam Bonjol Museum stands proudly in West Sumatra to honor the legacy of a national hero who fought bravely in the 19th-century Padri War. This important cultural site is officially registered to preserve and share valuable historical collections for education and community learning.
Located in the Bonjol district of Pasaman Regency, the museum sits right next to the famous Equator Monument. This unique geographical landmark adds an extra layer of excitement for visitors exploring the area.

Inside, the museum functions as a public space showcasing historical artifacts, documents, and personal items belonging to Tuanku Imam Bonjol. These displays are designed to teach younger generations about courage, history, and national pride.
Owned by the Pasaman Regency government, the building was constructed between October 1987 and 1990. It officially opened to the public in 1998 to ensure continuous care and public access.
Spread across two floors on a two-hectare area, the museum is packed with fascinating historika items like old weapons and family trees. Visitors can also view traditional household tools, ancient coins, and antique ceramics that tell stories of the past.
The first floor displays personal belongings and main artifacts connected directly to Tuanku Imam Bonjol's life. Meanwhile, the second floor features cultural items and local artifacts that highlight traditional Minangkabau life.
The museum's main vision is to serve as the primary source of historical information for the region. Through permanent exhibits and educational programs, it keeps the heroic spirit alive for everyone who visits.
