Mawun Beach Offers Playful Right-Hand Waves for Surfers in Lombok

From Kuta Lombok, travelers can follow the coastal road west for about 20 minutes. Mawun is located between Tampah and Selong Belanak, with a signposted turn-off leading toward the beach and parking available for a small fee.

Several hazards require attention at Mawun, including sharp reef at low tide and rip currents during larger swells. The beach can also produce an unpredictable shorebreak, while limited facilities mean visitors should bring sufficient food, drinking water, and other necessities.
