RRI.CO.ID, Panaitan Island - Napalms is a quality reef break on Panaitan Island, Banten, within the Ujung Kulon National Park area. The surf spot delivers long, open-faced rides and right-hand barrel sections for intermediate and advanced surfers.

Napalms can produce waves reaching around 100 meters across the coral reef, giving surfers plenty of space to work along the wave face. Its right-hand barrel develops after a relatively straightforward entry, while the open sections allow surfers to perform turns and maintain speed.

The break works from waist-high waves to around double overhead, with south and southwest swells providing the most favorable energy. Northeasterly winds can create offshore conditions, helping produce cleaner and more organized wave faces.

Mid to high tide generally provides better conditions at Napalms because more water covers the reef. The dry season from April to October also offers a more consistent period for surfing when suitable swell and wind conditions occur together.

Surfers can reach the lineup only by boat, with surf charters providing access to Napalms and other breaks around Panaitan Island. The paddle from the boat to the lineup is relatively short, although surfers still need to navigate the coral reef carefully.

Travelers usually begin the journey from Jakarta before driving west toward coastal towns such as Carita or Anyer. From there, they can continue by charter boat to Panaitan Island, with experienced operators helping arrange access to the remote surf spots.

Napalms sits within the natural surroundings of Ujung Kulon National Park, where dense vegetation and relatively undeveloped coastal areas surround the surf breaks. The remote setting provides a quieter experience than urban surf destinations, but it also means visitors should prepare supplies and equipment before heading offshore.

The coral reef is one of the main hazards at Napalms, particularly during wipeouts and lower tides when parts of the reef become more exposed. Strong currents can also develop during larger swells, while the remote location limits immediate access to emergency and medical services.

With its long right-hand rides, open walls, and occasional barrel sections, Napalms provides varied conditions for intermediate and advanced surfers. Its combination of challenging reef waves, tropical surroundings, and boat-only access makes it a distinctive surf destination around Panaitan Island.
