RRI.CO.ID, North Sipora - Fish Face, also known as Muka Ikan, offers short left-hand waves for surfers of different skill levels in North Sipora, Mentawai Islands. The spot works particularly well for beginners because its forgiving wave faces and occasional steeper sections provide a manageable setting for learning.

Fish Face is located near Aloita Resort, about a 10-minute walk around the coast from the resort area. Surfers can also reach the break by paddling for around five minutes from The Rat, another nearby surf spot.

The reef break produces fun little left-hand waves that can become steeper in certain sections. Compared with the Rat, Fish Face has a slightly less perfect shape but generally offers softer wave faces that are easier for beginners to handle.

The spot can accommodate surfers at different levels, although its forgiving conditions make it especially useful for learners. Surfers looking for a relaxed session can also enjoy the relatively quiet lineup, which usually attracts only a small number of surfers.

Fish Face works best during the April to October surfing season, when conditions around the Mentawai Islands can provide suitable waves. The break can also handle southern winds relatively well, giving surfers another option when wind conditions change.

The wave has an average level of consistency, so surfers should still check the conditions before entering the water. When the waves line up, the short left-hand sections provide opportunities to practice positioning, balance, and basic turns.

Its proximity to other surf spots makes Fish Face convenient for surfers staying around North Sipora. Visitors can explore nearby breaks and choose between different wave characteristics depending on their experience and the conditions on the day.

The relatively uncrowded setting adds to the relaxed character of Fish Face. With its manageable wave faces, nearby accommodation, and easy access from the surrounding resort area, the spot provides a comfortable environment for surfers who want to improve their skills.

Surfers should still check the reef, tide, currents, and wave conditions before paddling out. Beginners can consider surfing with more experienced companions or local guides while becoming familiar with the break.
