RRI.CO.ID, Pesisir Barat - Bali Village offers gentle left and right waves for intermediate beginner surfers along the coast of Pesisir Barat, Lampung. Located about 20 minutes south of Tanjung Setia, the spot combines manageable waves with a distinctive Balinese-influenced village atmosphere.
Bali Village gets its name from Balinese communities who settled in the area and brought elements of their architectural and cultural traditions. Visitors can see Balinese-style buildings and traditional Balinese penjor lining parts of the village roads.
The surf spot consists of several left and right peaks that break over the coral reef. The waves generally provide longer and softer rides, making the area suitable for advanced beginners and intermediate surfers when conditions remain manageable.
Bali Village works best with smaller swells arriving from the south or southwest. Higher tides can provide better wave shape and more water over the reef, while lower tides can make several sections too shallow for comfortable surfing.
The area can produce good waves when the swell remains small and winds stay light or come from the northeast. Conditions can vary considerably, however, so surfers should assess the different peaks on the day before choosing where to paddle out.
Surfers can reach the lineup by crossing the reef between sets. The same route can be used when returning to shore, although surfers need to exercise extra caution during low tide when the coral becomes more exposed.
To reach Bali Village, visitors can travel south from Tanjung Setia through Biha before continuing past Way Jambu. The spot becomes easier to identify when the ocean comes back into view from the road, with parking available around nearby fields and the Hindu temple.
The relatively quiet setting means surfers may find fewer people in the water compared with more established breaks around Tanjung Setia. This provides a more relaxed environment for surfers who want to practice without a busy lineup.
The shallow coral reef remains the main hazard, particularly during low tide. Surfers should also watch for unexpected clean-up sets and choose conditions that match their experience before entering the water.
