Rejuvenation of "The Nusa Dua" in Bali Reaches 58.53%

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) continues to transform the assets and infrastructure of The Nusa Dua, Bali, through an area rejuvenation program. By the 36th week, the physical progress of the program has reached 58.53%, increasing significantly from the previous achievement of 23.7%, as quoted from a written press release on Sunday, 27 September 2026.

The General Manager of The Nusa Dua, I Made Agus Dwiatmika, stated that the area's rejuvenation is an effort by ITDC to ensure that The Nusa Dua's assets and destination environment continue to evolve to meet the needs of tourists and the dynamics of the tourism industry. He emphasized that this rejuvenation is not merely about infrastructure upgrades.

"The rejuvenation of The Nusa Dua is not solely about construction and infrastructure renewal. We view this as part of an effort to improve the overall quality of the area, ensuring that existing assets and facilities can optimally support tourism activities, tenants, business operators, events, and the needs of all stakeholders," Agus said.

Furthermore, according to him, improving the quality of the area must be done sustainably. This ensures that The Nusa Dua retains its appeal and competitiveness amidst global tourism industry developments.

"A progress rate of 58.53% is an important milestone, but for us, what matters most is how every completed task enhances the area's functionality, provides a better experience for tourists, and delivers added value for all stakeholders," he continued.

A number of tasks in the rejuvenation program are currently underway, including the improvement and renewal of area roads, the access improvements from Gate AC to Peninsula, the construction of Groin 01 and Groin 02, the arrangement of access to Waterblow and Peninsula, wastewater and infiltration installations, and the access road to Nusa Dharma Island. By the 36th week, several projects had also been completed, including Groin 02 and the Beach Public Restrooms.

One of the key areas in the transformation of The Nusa Dua is Peninsula Island. This area continues to be developed as one of the region's focal points by optimizing the function of open spaces to support tourism, recreation, community activities, and various events.

"We are developing Peninsula Island not only as a public space, but also as part of the destination experience. We will introduce infrastructure improvements aligned with various regional activations so that Peninsula Island becomes more vibrant, possesses character, and adds value to The Nusa Dua," Agus said.

The estate-wide transformation also prioritizes sustainability aspects. The Nusa Dua features approximately 97 hectares of Green Open Space (RTH), accounting for 27% of the total area.

In detail, the area features more than 5,700 trees across 138 vegetation species. The complex also implements a lagoon system to treat and reuse wastewater for landscape irrigation.

"We want this rejuvenation not only to improve the look of the area, but also to enhance its functionality, comfort, and environmental quality. Sustainability will remain an essential part of every step in the development of The Nusa Dua," Agus said.
