RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Vice Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency Irene Umar said communities are an important foundation for driving Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem, particularly in the gaming, esports, comics, and digital content subsectors.
“Communities are an important foundation. From communities, many things can grow, whether in gaming, the esports industry, or various other creative subsectors,” Irene said while attending Pes7a Warga Duniaku, organized by Duniaku.com at M Bloc Space, Jakarta, Sunday, September 27, 2026.
According to Irene, spaces that bring together communities, creators, investors, and the public can open-up opportunities for collaboration while expanding the market for Indonesian creative works. She said the development of popular culture, particularly games, comics, and digital intellectual property (IP), has significant market potential when supported by sustained interaction and collaboration.
“Through activities like this, we can see how creativity, technology, and communities can come together in the same space. Hopefully, Indonesian creative works can continue to grow and become more widely known,” she said.
Pes7a Warga Duniaku, held under the theme “One Place for Every Warga Duniaku,” brought together fans, creators, and popular culture industry players. The event featured various interactive activities and served as a space for young Indonesian talents to showcase their works.
Meanwhile, IDN Times Editor-in-Chief, which oversees Duniaku.com, Uni Lubis, said communities and creativity are important parts of the development of the national creative economy.
“Many developments are taking place, from comics and games to various other creative works that continue to grow with the support of technology,” Uni said.
The Ministry of Creative Economy continues to encourage the development of creative spaces that bring together talents, industry players, and the public to increase the added value of Indonesian creative works and expand their market reach.
