RRI.CO.ID, Malang - Tourism activities at the Ranu Regulo lake area inside Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) in East Java continue to operate normally despite localized wildfires occurring in separate sectors of the Mount Bromo region.
TNBTS Center Head Rudijanta Tjahja Nugraha confirmed on Monday, September 14, 2026, that public access to Ranu Regulo remains open. Operational data logged 645 visitors at the site over a three-day period starting Saturday, September 12, comprising 410 visitors on Saturday, 154 on Sunday, and 81 on Monday.
Park entry and camping fees follow standard tariffs under Government Regulation No. 36/2024, ranging from IDR 24,000 (USD 1.36) to IDR 34,000 for domestic day trips and IDR 205,000 for international visitors, with camping durations structured up to two days.
While maintaining access, park authorities are urging visitors to exercise extreme caution amid hot weather and dry season conditions. Park rangers have implemented mandatory fire safety guidelines across the campsite to mitigate forest fire risks.
"For Ranu Regulo, it remains normal and still open, however, tourists must remain cautious during this dry season," Rudijanta said in Malang Regency on Monday, September 14, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
TNBTS Public Relations Officer Endrip Wahyutama reiterated the strict environmental regulations enforced for all visiting campers and day-trippers.
"All tourism activities taking place at Ranu Regulo continue to adhere to applicable regulations, tourists are expected not to light fires. We urge visitors to immediately report to officers if they see or detect the emergence of smoke spots in the Ranu Regulo area,” Endrip said. ***
