Tumpak Sewu manager Ciko explained that the assistance is not a commercial offering for tourists. He said staff will provide help free of charge when visitors are genuinely unable to continue the climb.

"This isn't a paid service. We want to make sure visitors can enjoy Tumpak Sewu's beauty and return safely," he said. "If a visitor truly can't manage the climb, our staff will help free of charge."

Ciko conveyed the carrying assistance is only provided under certain conditions and is not routinely needed. Hundreds of tourists visit daily, but only a small number require assistance because of severe exhaustion.

Alongside stationing staff who can respond when needed, management continues reminding visitors to prepare physically beforehand. Tourists are encouraged to wear suitable footwear, carry enough drinking water, and consider their physical abilities.
