RRI.CO.ID, Lumajang - The Sumber Telu Waterfall, located in Mulyoarjo Hamlet, Pronojiwo Subdistrict, Lumajang Regency, East Java, is emerging as a distinct natural ecotourism attraction, featuring three natural water streams cascading down a five-meter cliff inside a local salak (snake fruit) orchard.
Regent of Lumajang Indah Amperawati inspected the site on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, highlighting the destination's unique blend of landscape aesthetics, local agricultural integration, and traditional hydrotherapy practices. Accessible via a short 300-meter trek through community-owned salak plantations, the site offers visitors direct exposure to local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) producing salak chips and dodol.
Positioned alongside established destinations like Kapas Biru and Kabut Pelangi waterfalls, local authorities are focusing on environmental conservation and safety guidelines to maintain the ecosystem as visitor numbers grow. Regency officials emphasized that developing community-integrated natural destinations supports local economic growth while diversifying Lumajang’s regional tourism portfolio.
Regent of Lumajang Indah Amperawati noted the landscape appeal and longstanding local beliefs surrounding the natural spring site. "Sumber Telu is believed by the community to possess therapeutic water properties, drawing many visitors seeking traditional therapy for nerve health and physical endurance, the waterfall is exceptionally beautiful and continues to attract high numbers of visitors," Indah said in Lumajang on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, as quoted by Infopublik.id.
She added that the site's close integration with local agriculture creates a distinct travel experience.
