West Java Records 112 Million Domestic Tourist Trips in First Half of 2026

RRI.CO.ID, Bandung - Indonesia's West Java welcomed 112.12 million domestic tourist trips during the first half of 2026. Statistics Indonesia reported the figure for the January-June 2026 period, highlighting the province's strong tourism performance.

The latest data confirms West Java remains one of Indonesia's leading destinations for domestic travelers. The first-half total also surpassed the figures recorded during the previous five years.

During the same period, domestic tourist trips reached 44.99 million in 2021 and 59.45 million in 2022. The number continued rising to 75.46 million in 2023, 82.92 million in 2024, and 107.09 million in 2025.

March recorded the highest monthly travel volume, with 22.48 million domestic tourist trips across the province. Meanwhile, June contributed another 18.67 million trips, reflecting consistently strong travel demand.

Bogor Regency became the most visited destination with 17.79 million domestic tourist trips during the six-month period. It was followed by Bandung City, Bekasi City, Bekasi Regency, and Bandung Regency.

The report also showed encouraging growth in international visitor arrivals to West Java. Both air transportation and high-speed rail services recorded higher foreign tourist numbers.

In June 2026, 477 international visitors entered West Java through Kertajati International Airport. The figure represented a 97.93 percent increase compared with 241 arrivals recorded in the previous month.

International travelers also continued using Indonesia's Whoosh high-speed railway during their visits to West Java. The service recorded 17,877 international passenger trips in June, increasing 2.02 percent from May.
