RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia's Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya, has invited the public to explore destinations across Indonesia while enjoying a wide range of sporting events, cultural performances, concerts, and exhibitions taking place throughout 2026 and into early 2027. The invitation was conveyed through an official statement posted on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

"It's time to explore Indonesia and enjoy the many exciting events taking place across the country," Teddy wrote in the statement, as quoted by the country's Presidential Secretariat on Saturday.

A number of national and international events have been scheduled in various regions of Indonesia. According to Teddy, the extensive lineup demonstrates Indonesia's readiness to host world-class international events.

The events are expected to encourage both domestic and international tourism. Increased visitor numbers are also expected to benefit the hospitality, transportation, culinary, creative economy, and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) sectors in the areas hosting the events.

Teddy highlighted dozens of events scheduled between August 2026 and February 2027, including several major international sporting competitions.

A preseason football match between Italian club AC Milan and English club Chelsea will be held at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK) in Jakarta on August 8. The FIFA ASEAN Cup, featuring Southeast Asian national teams, is scheduled to take place at the same venue from September 23 to October 3.

Indonesia will also host the Mandalika Grand Prix of the MotoGP World Championship at the Mandalika International Street Circuit in West Nusa Tenggara from October 9–11. Meanwhile, the Indonesia Masters 2027 badminton tournament is scheduled for February 9–14, 2027.

Several mass-participation running events are also planned, including the Maybank Marathon Bali on August 21–23, the Jakarta Running Festival on October 22–25, and the Borobudur Marathon on November 15.

In addition, several internationally renowned music acts are scheduled to perform in Indonesia, particularly in Jakarta and surrounding areas. The lineup includes Avenged Sevenfold on October 10, Simple Plan on November 27–28 (with the November 28 performance in Surabaya, East Java), BTS on December 26, 27, and 29, and Westlife on January 23, 2027.
