RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia is set to host the Indonesia Business Event Mart (IBEM) 2026, the country's first marketplace dedicated to the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) industry. The event will take place at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) from July 28 to 31, 2026.
It brings together government representatives, industry associations, business event providers, domestic and international buyers, and service providers on a single platform. IBEM 2026 is organized through a collaboration between E&C Productions and TTG Events, with support from the Ministry of Tourism.
The inaugural edition will feature around 200 buyers from 37 countries and 100 sellers, representing destinations, hotels, convention centers, professional conference organizers (PCOs), destination management companies (DMCs). Even, it will show business event technology and service providers.
One of IBEM's key features is its Pre-Scheduled Appointment (PSA) system, which allows buyers and sellers to arrange business meetings before the event begins. The mechanism is expected to make business matching more effective, creating new partnership opportunities while strengthening Indonesia's competitiveness as a regional MICE destination.
Christine Besinga, Chairperson of the IBEM 2026 Organizing Committee, said IBEM was established as a platform to bring together the entire MICE ecosystem.
"IBEM is Indonesia's first business events marketplace specifically designed to connect the entire MICE ecosystem. We hope it will grow into an annual event that expands partnerships, creates new business opportunities, and strengthens Indonesia's position in the global business events industry," Christine said in an official statement released in Jakarta on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
In addition to business matching sessions, IBEM will feature exhibitions, networking events, and various programs involving MICE stakeholders from Indonesia and abroad.
Held alongside IBEM, the Southeast Asia Business Events Forum (SEABEF) 2026 will take place on July 28–29, 2026. The forum will bring together policymakers, industry associations, business event professionals, and practitioners from across the region to discuss the development of Southeast Asia's MICE sector.
Acting Deputy for Event Development at the Ministry of Tourism, Hafiz Agung Rifai, said SEABEF is part of Indonesia's efforts to strengthen its position as a destination for world-class international events.
"The collaboration between SEABEF and IBEM provides an important opportunity to bring together industry stakeholders, expand international networks, and foster partnerships that will enhance Indonesia's competitiveness as a leading business events destination in the ASEAN region," Hafiz said.
As part of the event, hosted buyers and international media will also participate in familiarization trips to Onrust Island and Macan Island in the Thousand Islands, organized by Jakarta's Tourism and Creative Economy Agency. The program aims to introduce Jakarta's tourism attractions beyond its urban center to prospective buyers and international media.
