RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta — The Korea Hybrid Travel Fair 2026 has officially launched, offering round-trip flights from Indonesia to South Korea starting from just IDR 2 million (USD 113.62). The initiative is highly regarded for expanding outbound tourism access for the Indonesian public.
The travel expo is being held at the Main Atrium of Gandaria City Mall, Jakarta, from May 15 to 17, 2026. The event showcases a strategic collaboration among major airlines, online travel agencies (OTAs), and the banking sector.
Indonesian tourist interest in South Korea has seen a steady increase over recent years. The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) recorded that Indonesian visitor arrivals reached 365,000 throughout 2025.
Director of the KTO Jakarta Office, Kim Jisun noted that this figure marks a historic milestone. The organization is now targeting further growth in Indonesian visitor arrivals for the duration of 2026.
"The enthusiasm of Indonesian travelers toward South Korea has risen significantly over the past few years. Last year's arrival figures represent the highest in history," said Kim Jisun sat the Korea Hybrid Travel Fair in Gandaria City, Jakarta, on Friday, May 15, 2026.
"Through the Korea Hybrid Travel Fair 2026, we aim to further stimulate public interest in visiting Korea. We are also fully supporting the target to increase tourist numbers this year," Kim added.
Themed Beyond Korea Travel Fair, the event aims to introduce lesser-known facets of South Korea. Visitors are presented with promotional offers focusing on cultural tourism, entertainment, and thematic Korean destinations.
Eight airlines are offering special promotional fares for the duration of the expo at Gandaria City Mall. Daily ticket flash sales for flights to South Korea are scheduled every evening at 7 p.m. Jakarta time. Participating carriers include Korean Air, Garuda Indonesia, Asiana Airlines, and Malaysia Airlines.
Prominent OTAs Traveloka and Tiket.com are also providing a variety of exclusive promotions. Among these is a daily flash sale at 7 p.m. Jakarta time featuring round-trip tickets to South Korea for only IDR 2 million. Additionally, cashback coupons worth up to IDR 2 million are available for flights, hotel bookings, and Korean travel experiences.
Visitors making transactions directly at the venue can secure discounts of up to IDR 600,000 (USD 34.09). Furthermore, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), serving as the official bank partner, has prepared shopping vouchers valued at up to IDR 4 million (USD 227.23) to accommodate the travel needs of prospective tourists.
Beyond travel promotions, the event offers educational insights on planning budget-friendly holidays to South Korea. Interactive talk shows delve into strategies for experiencing luxury travel at an affordable cost.
The organizers have also lined up interactive games themed around South Korean popular culture. These challenges include Korean drama voice-dubbing and K-tourism trivia competitions.
The second day of the fair will feature a dedicated segment exploring the hometown destinations of popular K-Pop idols. Indonesian singer Reza Darmawangsa is scheduled to perform as the main entertainment act for attendees.
On the final day, organizers will host a lucky draw featuring complimentary travel tickets to South Korea. This program is open to visitors who complete transactions with a minimum value of IDR 5 million (USD 284.09). (Annaila Azzahra/EN)
