RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian tennis player Aldila Sutjiadi continued her campaign at the WTA 1000 China Open with a convincing opening-round victory, advancing to the second round after overcoming a challenging doubles partnership from Estonia and Mexico.

Partnering with New Zealand’s Erin Routliffe, Aldila secured a straight-sets win over Ingrid Neel and Giuliana Olmos in Beijing, China, on Monday, October 5, 2026, Antara reported.

The Indonesia-New Zealand duo prevailed 6-4, 7-6(5) in a match that lasted one hour and 43 minutes. Aldila and Erin were more effective in the opening set, capitalizing on key opportunities to break their opponents’ serve before closing out the set 6-4.

The China Open is one of the WTA Tour’s premier WTA 1000 events and is being held on the hard courts of Beijing from September 30 to October 11. ***
