Japan Ambassador and Maldives Sports Minister Officially Send Off Contingent

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Maldives National Paralympic Committee (NPC) contingent prepared for departure to the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games on Monday, October 5, 2026. The Maladivian para-athletes were officially sent off during a ceremony held at the Youth Hub on Lily Magu in Malé.

Japanese Ambassador Ishigami Rumiko and Maldives Minister of Sports Abdulla Rafiu officially flagged off the contingent. The send-off served as a momentum-building moment for the athletes who will represent the Maldives on the international sports stage.

During the ceremony, the athletes also received exclusive 100 CTFP cards ahead of their departure. Abdulla Rafiu is noted as the first sports minister in the world to launch a 100 CTFP card.

The Maria Monique Last Wish Foundation expressed appreciation to Ishigami Rumiko, Abdulla Rafiu, and the entire Maldives NPC leadership. The appreciation was conveyed in recognition of their support for the contingent's send-off and the implementation of the 100 CTFP initiative.

This solidarity movement does not stop in the Maldives and will continue across 15 other supporting countries. The peak of the series of activities is scheduled to take place at the Japanese Embassy in Jakarta.

Japanese Ambassador Ueno Atsushi is scheduled to personally welcome 100 CTFP founder Natalia Tjahja during the event. The meeting forms part of the ongoing 100 CTFP tour following programs conducted in a number of countries.

All documentation from the series of activities will be officially archived at the IPC headquarters in Germany. The documentation will also be distributed globally to various countries in nine languages by international journalist Ashraf Aboul-Yazid. (Diva Rifdah)
