RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Thirteen National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) from various Asian countries have expressed support for the 100 Celebrities Talk for Para Athletes (100 CTFP) program ahead of the upcoming Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games in Japan.

Malaysia’s National Sports Council (MSN) also welcomed the initiative, which is dedicated to athletes with disabilities. MSN’s Paralympic representative, Shukri Hasan, praised the 100 CTFP program for its deep emotional impact on para-athletes.

Philippine NPC Secretary-General Godofredo “Goody” Custodio reported that 80 cards had been received for Filipino athletes, while Maldives NPC Secretary-General Ahmed Mohamed welcomed the program and outlined several follow-up agendas.

Mohamed announced plans for a special meeting with the Maldives Minister of Youth and Sports as well as a scheduled Zoom meeting with participating celebrities. Additional support was voiced by Sri Lanka NPC President Lt. Col. Deepal and Cambodia NPC President Yi Veasna.

Yi Veasna, who also serves as a Royal Advisor to Cambodia, invited 100 CTFP initiator Natalia Tjahja to hold a joint event in the country. Meanwhile, the Paralympic Committee of Thailand reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring Thai para-athletes receive their 100 CTFP cards despite ongoing severe flooding.

Thailand NPC President Naiyanobh Bhirombhakdi confirmed full backing for the distribution of the cards among his nation's athletes. The growing support network also extends to the NPCs of Nepal, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Chinese Taipei, and Timor-Leste.

The impact of the initiative was evident in the emotional responses of athletes receiving the 100 CTFP cards, which contain messages from global figures and celebrities.

100 CTFP initiator Natalia Tjahja admitted she did not expect the cards to provide such a profound psychological lift. "I truly never expected the 100 CTFP cards to act as a booster, a motivation, and a card of happiness for the athletes," Natalia said in a statement received by RRI on Friday, October 2, 2026.

A moving and joyful atmosphere filled the distribution event at the MSN Paralympic Complex in Kampung Pandan, Malaysia. Among the recipients was Nur Asyku Zaimi, a newlywed who holds the title of Seoul Boccia Champion BC3.

Zaimi expressed surprise and delight after receiving a card featuring a direct message from International Paralympic Committee (IPC) President Andrew Parsons. Malaysian para-swimmer Abd Halim bin Mohammad was similarly touched after receiving a message from artist Gladys Lazarus.

For Halim, the card is more than just a piece of paper; it serves as a powerful motivational boost to secure a medal in Nagoya. Athlete enthusiasm was further highlighted when one competitor expressed a strong desire to meet Indonesian actor Marcelino Lefrandt upon winning a medal.

Support through the 100 CTFP cards has also reached para-athletes in other countries. Indian para-swimmer Suyash Narayan Jadhav leaped into the pool with enthusiasm immediately after receiving his card.

In the Philippines, para-swimmers Ernie Gawilan and Muhaimen Ulag also received 100 CTFP cards, both showing great excitement upon receiving the special messages. (Diva Rifdah)
