RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian rider Veda Ega Pratama will have another opportunity to strengthen his position in the 2026 Moto3 World Championship when he competes at the Indonesian Grand Prix next week, following an 11th-place finish in Japan that added five points to his season tally.

Veda, who rides for Honda Team Asia, finished 11th at the Japanese Grand Prix at Mobility Resort Motegi on Sunday, October 4, 2026, after recovering from a difficult starting position caused by a crash during qualifying, according to the official MotoGP website.

The Indonesian rider, who competes under number 9, briefly dropped to 15th during the race. He fought back in the closing laps, overtaking three riders to secure 11th place, Antara reported.

The result brought Veda's season total to 105 points, placing him eighth in the provisional Moto3 standings after the Japanese Grand Prix. He has the same number of points as Malaysia's Hakim Danish, who sits one position above him.

Meanwhile, Spain's David Almansa of Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP won the race after a close battle with Maximo Quiles of CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team, beating him by just 0.046 seconds. Alvaro Carpe of Red Bull KTM Ajo completed the podium in third place, finishing 2.738 seconds behind the winner.

The victory lifted Almansa back to second in the championship standings with 199 points, eight ahead of Carpe. Quiles remains the leader by a substantial margin with 326 points.

Quiles had an opportunity to secure the 2026 Moto3 world championship at Motegi, but Almansa's victory delayed the Spaniard's title celebration until the Indonesian Grand Prix.

The Moto3 championship will next move to the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, for round 17 on October 9-11. Racing at home will give Veda another opportunity to pursue a stronger result in front of Indonesian fans while continuing his push up the championship standings. ***
