RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s judo team will rely on its remaining three athletes to continue the country’s campaign at the 2026 Asian Games after Dinny Febriany gained valuable experience in her debut by reaching the women’s 57kg round of 16.

Dinny’s run ended against Japan’s Mio Shirakane at Aichi International Arena, Aichi, on Thursday, October 1, according to the 2026 Asian Games record.

Shirakane defeated Dinny by ippon after one minute and 49 seconds of the bout, Antara reported. The Japanese judoka then lost to North Korea’s Hyoh A Kim in the quarterfinals.

Shirakane returned to the competition through the repechage, defeating India’s Mourya Yamini to advance to the bronze-medal contest against Uzbekistan’s Shukurjon Aminova.

For Dinny, the result ended her bid to continue the positive momentum she built after winning gold at the 2025 SEA Games.

Dinny’s debut gives Indonesia additional international competition experience as the remaining judoka prepare to continue the team’s campaign in Aichi-Nagoya. ***
