Alwi Farhan Wins Bronze Medal at Asian Games 2026

RRI.CO.ID, Nagoya - Indonesian men's singles shuttler, Alwi Farhan won the bronze medal at the 2026 Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya after losing to Thailand's Kunlavut Vitidsarn, 13-21, 15-21, in the semifinals at Ichinomiya City Municipal Gymnasium on Monday, September 28, 2026.

Kunlavut took the lead from the start of the first game. Alwi tried to fight back, but the Thai shuttler maintained his advantage to win the opening game 21-13.

In the second game, Alwi again tried to put pressure on his opponent and keep the contest close. However, Kunlavut maintained his momentum and closed out the game 21-15.

The result ended Alwi's run in the tournament, but his semifinal appearance secured a bronze medal for Indonesia in the men's singles event.

Alwi's bronze medal also added to Indonesia's medal tally at the 2026 Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya. As of Monday afternoon, Indonesia had collected 27 medals, comprising two gold, five silver and 20 bronze medals.

With the competition still underway, Indonesia has further opportunities to add to its medal tally before the 2026 Asian Games conclude on October 4.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has encouraged the public to continue supporting and praying for Indonesian athletes still competing, in the hope that they can achieve the best possible results for Indonesia.
