Indonesia Tops Pool B After Straight-Sets Win Over Kyrgyzstan.

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia moved into first place in Pool B of the men's volleyball competition at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games after securing its first tournament victory with a straight-sets win over Kyrgyzstan.

Indonesia defeated Kyrgyzstan 3-0 (27-25, 25-21, 25-15) in its second Pool B match at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Gymnasium in Okazaki, Aichi, Japan, on Monday.

The opening set was closely contested as Indonesia matched Kyrgyzstan's attacking play from the outset. The score was level at 11-11 before the interval, Antara reported.

After the break, the Red and White squad appeared to take control and opened a five-point lead at 17-12. Kyrgyzstan, however, fought back strongly to level the score at 22-22.

Indonesia remained composed in the closing stages and eventually took the set 27-25.

In the second set, Hendra Kurniawan and his teammates played with greater confidence, collecting points steadily to edge ahead 10-9 before the interval.

Kyrgyzstan responded well after the break and overturned the deficit to lead 18-14. Facing pressure, Indonesia quickly regained momentum with a six-point run before sealing the set 25-21.

Indonesia set the tempo from the start of the third set and raced to a 10-5 lead. The team coached by Reidel Toiran continued to widen the gap and eventually extended its advantage to 18-9.

Indonesia wrapped up the set 25-15 to complete a convincing straight-sets victory.

The win lifted Indonesia to the top of the Pool B standings with four points. The team is scheduled to face Iran on Tuesday in its final Pool B match. ***
