Pertamina Engages Fans ahead of Indonesian Grand Prix

RRI.CO.ID, Yogyakarta – Pertamina engaged automotive communities and motorsport fans worldwide through the Road to Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 event at JNM Bloc, Yogyakarta, on Sunday, September 20, 2026. The event was organized by Pertamina alongside the InJourney Tourism Development Corporation to build excitement ahead of the main race in Mandalika from October 9–11, 2026.

The event brought together hundreds of motorsport enthusiasts through interactive discussion sessions, city convoys, and a joint watch party for international races. The participation of several major sponsors also strengthened collaboration ahead of the event.

Pertamina's Vice President of Corporate Communication, Muhammad Baron, said the event serves as a platform to showcase Indonesia's tourism and cultural potential to international audiences. "The Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia is an event that not only presents world-class motorsport competition but also serves as a space to introduce Indonesia's potential, including tourism, culture, and national talents," he stated.

Mandalika Grand Prix Association President Commissioner RM Gusthilantika Marrel Suryokusumo added that these community activities strengthen the local racing ecosystem while supporting domestic riders. "The Watch Party serves as a space to connect fans, communities, and various parties sharing the same passion for motorsport," he noted.

Preparations for the international race at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit have now entered the final phase of cross-institutional coordination. Organizers are ensuring circuit operational readiness while involving thousands of local workers and hundreds of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Organizing Committee and ITDC representative Sadiq Apriadi highlighted the level of community involvement in preparing for the event. "The Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026 also continues to expand community participation, with around 3,000 local workers and 213 MSMEs recorded to participate," Sadiq said.

Ticket sales have reached 53 percent of total available capacity, reflecting interest from domestic and international spectators. Organizers hope the Road to Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia activities will further build interest in the event and support Indonesia's sports tourism sector.
