Indonesia Wushu Athlete Wins Bronze in Changquan at Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games

RRI.CO.ID, Aichi – Indonesian wushu athlete Eugenia Diva Widodo won the bronze medal in the Changquan event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, held at the Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall on Monday, September 21, 2026. Eugenia scored a total of 9.706 points.

The gold medal was won by Sham HYL of Hong Kong with 9.713 points, while Sou CM of Macau took silver with 9.710 points.

Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir, who attended the competition in person, praised the Indonesian athletes for their efforts, despite the Indonesian contingent's primary target of winning gold medals.

“Of course, we appreciate the athletes who have fought hard to win bronze and silver medals. It’s an outstanding achievement,” Erick said.

Meanwhile, Eugenia said she was satisfied with the bronze medal. She said the result reflected the hard work she had put into her training.

“I’m really satisfied today. This result reflects what I have trained for,” Eugenia said.

She said the competition was intense, as she faced world-class athletes. Nevertheless, Eugenia tried to remain relaxed throughout the competition.

“The opponents were very good, and the competition was really tight. Even the scores were very close. But I tried to stay relaxed. This is a step toward the next competition. Thank you for all the support and prayers,” she said.
