RRI.CO.ID, Aichi - Indonesian wushu athlete, Eugenia Diva Widodo won a bronze medal in the Changquan event at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya at the Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall on Monday, September 21, 2026. Eugenia scored 9.706 points.
The gold medal in the event went to Hong Kong’s Sham HYL with a score of 9.713 points, while the silver medal was won by Macau’s Sou CM with 9.710 points. The three athletes finished just a few thousand points apart.
The result added to Indonesia’s medal tally at the 2026 Asian Games. Although Indonesia’s main target is to win gold medals, Youth and Sports Minister, Erick Thohir said every achievement by Indonesian athletes deserves appreciation.
“Of course, we appreciate the athletes who have fought hard to win bronze and silver medals. That is extraordinary,” Erick Thohir said after watching the competition.
Eugenia said she was satisfied with the bronze medal, which she described as the result of the training she had undergone in preparation for the competition.
“I’m really satisfied today. This result reflects what I have trained for,” Eugenia expressed.
Eugenia said the competition in the Changquan event was highly competitive, as she faced world-class athletes. She tried to remain relaxed throughout the competition despite the narrow differences in scores among the competitors.
She said the bronze medal would serve as motivation as she looks ahead to her next competitions. Eugenia also expressed her gratitude for the support and prayers she received during her campaign at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya.
