RRI.CO.ID, Nagoya - Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports, Erick Thohir has urged all Indonesian athletes competing at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games to maintain focus, discipline, and a strong fighting spirit as they face Asia’s top athletes.
He also called on the athletes to compete courageously and give their best until their final events. He said the Asian Games bring together top athletes from countries across Asia.
“I want all athletes to stay focused and disciplined, and most importantly, maintain their fighting spirit. Compete with courage and sportsmanship, and give your best until the final event, because you will be facing the best athletes from across Asia,” Erick said in a press release on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
He said the government remains committed to supporting Indonesian athletes competing on behalf of the country. The support is intended to accompany and assist the Indonesian contingent throughout the Asian Games.
Erick stressed that the state has confidence in the athletes representing Indonesia in Aichi-Nagoya.
The minister also said that Indonesians back home continue to provide their prayers and support for the athletes throughout the competition.
“Be assured that the government will always be there to support the athletes. The country believes in your efforts. The Indonesian people are also waiting for and praying for your success from home,” he explained.
