RRI.CO.ID, Nagoya - The Indonesian contingent won five medals on the second day of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 on Sunday, September 20, 2026, consisting of one silver and four bronze medals.
The silver medal was won by Sumaya in the women’s singles teqball event. The four bronze medals were secured by Yoga Ardika Pratama in the men’s singles teqball event, Seraf Naro Siregar in the men’s changquan wushu event, the Indonesian men’s team in soft tennis, and Leica Al Humaira Lubis in the women’s +68-kilogram kumite event in karate.
Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports, Erick Thohir praised the efforts of the Indonesian athletes competing on the second day. He said the achievement was the result of a process built on discipline, hard work, and the athletes’ fighting spirit.
“I appreciate the efforts and hard work of all Indonesian athletes today. The five medals we won are the result of a process, discipline, hard work, and the fighting spirit of our athletes. Thank you to the athletes, coaches, officials, and the entire team who continue to fight for the Red and White,” Erick said.
Erick said the results on the second day would help maintain the contingent’s morale and confidence. He added that Indonesia still has opportunities to win more medals as competitions will continue on Monday, September 21.
“What matters most is that we continue to stay focused. Every competition is an opportunity to give our best. Do not become complacent, but do not put too much pressure on yourselves either. Compete with confidence and discipline, and give your best for Indonesia,” he explained.
Several Indonesian athletes and teams are scheduled to compete again on Monday as the country continues its campaign at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026. The government has also called on Indonesians to continue supporting and praying for the national contingent as they compete on the Asian sporting stage.
