Indonesia Sweep Laos 3-0 in Asian Games Sepak Takraw Opener

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia opened its sepak takraw campaign at the 20th Asian Games Aichi–Nagoya 2026 with a convincing victory, defeating Laos 3–0 in the men’s team event of Group A at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Gymnasium on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

Indonesia secured the win after all three regus successfully overcame Laos’ resistance, as reported by Antara. The first regu, featuring Muhammad Hardiansyah Muliang, Saiful Rijal, and Yudha Aswinatama, had to endure a tight three‑set match.

Indonesia dropped the opening set 13–15 before turning the match around with 17–15 and 15–11 wins. The result gave Indonesia a 1–0 lead in the three‑regu contest, with Hardiansyah Muliang and his teammates responding well after falling behind early.

Indonesia then fielded Syamsul Akmal, Jelki Ladada, and Andy Tri Sandi Saputra for the second regu. The trio played more dominantly and secured a straight‑sets victory, 15–10 and 15–9.

The second regu’s win brought Indonesia closer to sealing the overall match. The third regu—Muhammad Ubaidur Rohman, Rizky Yusuf Djaina, and Gelvin Usman—then completed the sweep. They won 2–0 with scores of 15–6 and 17–15, clinching a 3–0 aggregate victory over Laos.
