RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian tennis player Aldila Sutjiadi is using the WTA 500 Singapore tournament as her final competitive preparation before focusing on the mixed doubles event at the 2026 Asian Games with Christopher Rungkat.
Aldila has been training in Jakarta before leaving for Singapore on Saturday morning, September 19, 2026. The WTA 500 tournament will be her final event before traveling to Japan for the Asian Games.
"I am already in Jakarta and preparing for the WTA tournament in Singapore. I will leave Saturday morning and compete in Singapore first before the Asian Games," Aldila said on Friday, September 18, as quoted by Antara.
At the WTA 500 Singapore, Aldila will again partner New Zealand's Erin Routliffe. The pair previously reached the US Open 2026 quarterfinals before losing to home representatives Ashlyn Krueger/Robin Montgomery.
After completing her Singapore campaign, Aldila will turn her attention fully to the Asian Games. She confirmed that she will compete only in mixed doubles, partnering Christopher Rungkat.
"I will only compete in mixed doubles with Christo at the Asian Games because Priska is not playing at the Asian Games," she said.
The decision means Aldila's Asian Games preparation will focus on rebuilding her partnership with Christo, who is also her current coach.
Aldila/Rungkat won the mixed doubles gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games in Palembang-Jakarta. They also won gold at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines, the 2021 SEA Games in Vietnam and the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia, as well as bronze at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand. ***
