PSSI Chief, Jakarta Governor Roll Giant FIFA ASEAN Cup Ball

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) Chairman Erick Thohir and Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, greeted Jakarta residents while rolling the giant FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 ball. The activity took place from Gelora Bung Karno to the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout on Sunday, September 13, 2026.

Crowds along the route warmly welcomed the giant ball and greeted the two officials. Erick and Pramono walked together as they rolled the ball through the streets of Jakarta.

Erick said Indonesia and Jakarta are ready to host the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026. The tournament is scheduled to take place from September 25 to October 5, 2026.

He also appreciated support from FIFA, the President of Indonesia, and the Jakarta Provincial Government. Indonesia is preparing to host the Southeast Asian tournament after successfully staging the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

“Hopefully, this event will be a major event for FIFA. We must be good hosts, and hopefully our team will also achieve the best results,” Erick said.

Erick also called for a welcoming atmosphere for visiting teams and supporters from Southeast Asia. He said Indonesian supporters are mature and should warmly welcome fans from Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The PSSI chairman said Indonesia's national team is expected to deliver its best performance for the country. He also emphasized the importance of ensuring all participants feel safe and comfortable during the tournament.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the capital is ready to fully support the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026. He said the city will prepare transportation and other facilities to ensure a safe and comfortable experience.

“Jakarta is ready to be a good host. Events such as the FIFA ASEAN Cup are very meaningful for Jakarta, and we will fully support it. Most importantly, Indonesia must be champions,” Pramono said.
