RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s speed climbing team is fine‑tuning its performance at the World Climbing Series in Guiyang, China (September 11–13), as part of final preparations for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi‑Nagoya, Japan.

Head coach Galar Pandu Asmoro confirmed that five athletes are competing in Guiyang, including standout climber Berthdigna Devi Surya, who will represent Indonesia at the Asian Games. “For Bertha, this is the final stage before facing the Asian Games,” Galar said.

The squad consists of two men -- Antasyafi Robby Al Hilmi and Raharjati Nur Samsa -- and three women: Berthdigna Devi Surya, Rajiah Salsabillah, and Kadek Adi Asih. They will compete in individual speed and relay events.

Team manager Aries Susanti Rahayu stressed the importance of the Guiyang series in maintaining competitiveness. “This event is crucial for speed climbers to sustain performance and protect their world rankings,” she noted.

The tournament features only speed disciplines, with Indonesian athletes entered in men’s and women’s individual speed, mixed relay, men’s relay, and women’s relay. Officials hope the event will serve as both a performance benchmark and a confidence boost ahead of Asia’s biggest sporting stage.

Berthdigna will join Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi in representing Indonesia in women’s speed climbing at the Asian Games, where competition is expected to be intense. ***
