Indonesia Builds Strong Home Challenge at ITF M15 Bali

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia has an opportunity to strengthen its presence at the ITF World Tennis Tour M15 Amman Mineral Men's World Tennis Championship 2026 Series 5 in Nusa Dua, Bali, with three more players set to join Nathan Barki in the second round.

Anthony Susanto, Rafalentino Ali Da Costa, and Muhammad Rifqi Fitriadi are scheduled to play their first-round matches on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, after Nathan secured his place in the second round by defeating Taiwan's Kai-i Wang 6-2, 6-2 on Tuesday, September 8.

"I played very comfortably and relaxed, so the strategy instructed by the coaching team worked as planned, putting pressure on my opponent and preventing him from producing his best game," Nathan said in a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday, September 9, as quoted by Antara.

Anthony, who received a wildcard, will face sixth seed Isaac Becroft of New Zealand. Rafalentino, also a wildcard recipient, is scheduled to meet India's Shanker Heisnam, who advanced through qualifying.

Meanwhile, second seed Rifqi will face Sweden's Eric Ahren Moonga, who also came through the qualifying round.

Nathan advanced to the second round after producing an effective performance against Kai-i Wang. The 21-year-old Indonesian forced his 23-year-old Taiwanese opponent into long rallies, which frequently led to unforced errors.

Beyond the singles competition, Indonesia has also secured a place in the men's doubles quarterfinals through the Rafalentino Ali Da Costa/Ethan David Zapp partnership.

Rafalentino/Ethan, who were finalists in Series 4 last week, defeated fellow Indonesians Anthony Susanto/Yan Chen Cheng 6-2, 7-5. The pair dominated with well-structured attacks and difficult service returns to secure a place in the last eight.

The campaigns of two other Indonesian pairs, Ethan Jake Frans/M. Ragil Putra and Kareem Abdul Hakim/Andrez Nech, ended in the first round.
