Jember Marching Band Eyes Gold After 2025 International Triumph

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Jember Marching Band is targeting another international achievement for Indonesia after its strong performance in Malaysia last year, with the 145‑member contingent set to compete at the Asian Music Games 2026 in Kuala Lumpur from September 4–15, 2026.

The group from Jember, East Java, will represent Indonesia with 145 members comprising athletes, coaches, and officials. Manager Rizki Setyobudi said the team is departing with full strength after undergoing intensive preparations and regular training.

“The contingent departing for Malaysia is bringing its full strength to make the nation proud,” Jember Marching Band Manager Rizki Setyobudi said on Sunday, August 30, as quoted by Antara.

The team has strengthened its preparations through regular training aimed at achieving maximum performance ahead of the international competition.

“Our contingent consists of 145 people, including athletes, coaches, and officials. Hopefully, we can achieve a strong result,” he said.

The management presented the team’s readiness to officials from the Jember Regency Administration, invited guests, and local residents at Jember Sport Garden.

Rizki said all members of the contingent are among the region’s best representatives and have undergone intensive training with a high level of discipline. Support from the local administration and Jember residents has also become a major source of motivation for the team.

“Their departure would not have been possible without the full support of the local administration and the people of Jember, and we are deeply grateful for that support,” he added.

He said support from all parties gives Jember Marching Band members the energy to compete and bring pride to Indonesia and Jember.

Ahead of their departure, the management also asked for prayers and support to ensure the competition runs smoothly and all team members remain healthy and safe until they return to Indonesia.

“I hope Jember Marching Band can once again raise the Red and White flag high. We hope to bring home achievements, pride, and a gold medal,” he concluded.

The team’s confidence is backed by its previous international success. Jember Marching Band won the overall Street Parade title at the Marching World Band Championship (MWBC) and National Competition (NATCOMP) 2025 at Darul Aman Stadium, Malaysia.

In 2025, the Indonesian representatives competed in five of the seven categories contested at the international event and won all five categories they entered.
