RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesian single shuttler Dendi Triansyah's run came to an end in the Round of 32 at the Polytron Pontianak International Challenge 2026. The fifth seed in the men's singles event lost to Wei-Cheng Su of Chinese Taipei 20-22, 18-21.

The match was played on Court 1 at the integrated sports hall GOR Terpadu, Pontianak, West Kalimantan, on Thursday, August 27, 2026. Dendi was defeated in a 52-minute match.

According to Dendi, his opponent was well prepared, tenacious and possessed a strong back-court game. Dendi, meanwhile, said he made too many unforced errors.

“Overall, my opponent was quite mature, tenacious and had fairly good back-court shots. I made too many unforced errors and was too eager to finish him off,” he said after the match.

However, Dendi said his overall game plan was correct. He only failed to turn the match around because of tension.

“The strategy we applied was actually right. Toward the end of both the first and second games, I managed to catch up, but unfortunately, tension prevented me from turning things around,” he added.

Going forward, Dendi plans to improve his stamina and develop a more solid style of play. “I need to improve my stamina and strengthen my style of play. There were still too many gaps in my game,” he concluded. (Diffa Sephiawardhani)
