RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia’s mixed doubles pair Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah showcased resilience and strong teamwork as they secured a place in the semifinals of the BWF World Championships 2026 in New Delhi, India, on Friday, August 21, 2026.

Their straight-game victory over Taiwan’s 11th seeds Yang Po-Hsuan/Hu Ling Fang, 21–18, 21–9, marked a significant milestone as they now set their sights on the final.

Amri expressed relief and determination after meeting their initial target of reaching the last four. “Alhamdulillah (All Praises to Allah), relieved and grateful, the target given to us has been achieved, but it’s not over yet. We are still not satisfied and will give our best tomorrow so the medal color can be even better,” he said in a statement, as quoted by Antara.

The Indonesians initially trailed in the first game before adjusting their rhythm to turn the match around. Amri credited their communication and mutual trust for helping them overcome early pressure.

“When one of us makes a mistake, we don’t blame each other but look for solutions together on court. Once we found the game we wanted, we didn’t let go and stayed focused point by point,” he explained.

Nita highlighted the challenge posed by the Taiwanese pair’s faster tempo compared to their previous opponents. She responded by taking greater control at the net and maximizing service play.

“At the start I made a lot of errors, but Amri’s encouragement motivated me to perform better. I kept trying to dominate the front court, and we managed to gain the advantage through service and service returns,” she said.

Beyond the match, Amri reflected on the difficult journey leading up to the championships. “There were many twists and turns in our preparation, and the time was not sufficient, but we kept trying. We didn’t expect to overcome such a challenging situation,” he concluded. ***
