RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports announced the Indonesia Sports Summit 2026 on Thursday, August 20, 2026. The announcement was made with 20FIT Event during a press conference at the ministry’s building in Jakarta.

The summit will take place from September 11 to 13, 2026, at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), GBK Hall A. More than 2,000 participants are expected, ranging from runners and gym enthusiasts to the general public.

Under the theme “Beyond The Game 2.0: From Nation Building to Global Industry,” ISS 2026 will present several programs. These include leadership forums, business discussions, industry exhibitions, sports tourism showcases, and career opportunities.

Deputy for Sports Industry Development at Indonesia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, Teuku Arlan Perkasa Lukman, said the event supports Indonesia’s growing sports industry. He said the summit and Jakarta Hybrid Race also promote sport-for-all and youth participation.

“Indonesia’s growing sports industry continues to open new opportunities, including through the development of hybrid fitness, which combines competition, active lifestyles, and public participation. Through the spirit of Beyond The Game 2.0, we want sports to develop not only to build the nation, but also as an industry capable of competing globally.

Jakarta Hybrid Race and Indonesia Sports Summit are part of these efforts, while also strengthening a sport-for-all culture and providing space for young people to discover and develop within the sports ecosystem of the future,” he said.

The summit will feature the Global Leadership Forum, Business Infrastructure Forum by The Ministry, and Sports Industry Expo. Other programs include ISS Experience Zone, Sports Tourism & Destination Showcase, and Sports Industry Job Fair & Career Hub.

Asia’s Top Ranked HYROX Pro Athlete and Performance Coach, Johnny Tieu, welcomed the summit’s role in connecting sports and economic opportunities. He highlighted the potential of sports tourism and the development of hybrid racing events across Indonesian cities.

“Indonesia Sports Summit is a positive step toward bringing together the government, industry, and communities to develop sports, including the potential of sports tourism as an economic driver. As a HYROX athlete, I am also excited to see the development of hybrid racing in Indonesia and hope more people will join ISS x Jakarta Hybrid Race as part of their training journey. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of strong collaboration and pave the way for more hybrid race events in various cities across Indonesia,” he said.

Jakarta Hybrid Race will feature a Half Simulation combining running with eight strength and physical exercise stations. The event will also include Hybrid Training, Hybrid Kids, and Athlete Check-in activities during the summit.
