RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian tennis player Aldila Sutjiadi, paired with New Zealand partner Erin Routliffe, secured the double title at the WTA 500 Mubadala Citi DC Open 2026 in Washington, DC, on Sunday, August 2, 2026.

The second-seeded duo put on a dominant performance to defeat the Slovenian-Japanese pair Andreja Klepac and Makoto Ninomiya in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, in a final match lasting 1 hour and 12 minutes on the Washington hard court, Antara reported.

Aldila and Erin established early control by breaking their opponents' serve in the opening game. Although Klepac/Ninomiya leveled the opening set at 4-4, the Indonesian-New Zealander pair broke back in the ninth game before closing out the first set 6-4.

The second set proved to be a display of complete dominance. Aldila/Erin broke their opponents three times to race to a 5-1 lead before sealing the 6-1 set victory and lifting the trophy.

Statistically, Aldila/Erin delivered a highly efficient performance, recording two aces, winning 69 percent of their first-serve points, and converting four of six break point opportunities. In contrast, Klepac/Ninomiya capitalized on only one of their three break chances.

The victory marks Aldila's second WTA 500 title of the 2026 season following her triumph at the Bad Homburg Open in late June, reinforcing her strong momentum on the US hard-court swing leading up to the 2026 US Open Grand Slam. ***
