RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian doubles specialist Aldila Sutjiadi continued her impressive hard-court run by reaching the women's doubles semifinals of the 2026 Mubadala Citi DC Open, a World Tennis Association (WTA) 500 hard-court tournament, strengthening her preparations for the upcoming US Open.

Partnering New Zealand's Erin Routliffe, the tournament's second seeds defeated American duo Clervie Ngounoue/Anna Smith 6-3, 6-2 in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. The match lasted one hour and 13 minutes, according to the WTA.

Aldila/Routliffe took control early by breaking serve in the second game of the opening set to move ahead 2-1, Antara reported. They secured another break in the eighth game before closing out the first set 6-3.

The Indonesian-New Zealand pair maintained their momentum in the second set with an early service break. Although they briefly surrendered their serve in the fifth game to trail 2-3, they quickly responded by winning the next three games, including two more breaks of serve, to seal a 6-2 victory.

Match statistics highlighted the pair's efficiency. Aldila/Routliffe converted five of nine break-point opportunities, while Ngounoue/Smith managed only one of five. They also dominated returns on second serve, winning 68.2 percent of those points compared with their opponents' 37.5 percent.

The result also validated the aggressive game plan Aldila outlined before the quarterfinal. She said she and Routliffe planned to pressure their opponents from the opening points, similar to their victory over Sofia Kenin and Anastasia Potapova in the previous round.
